Monday 27th July

Paul wanted a oil/vinegar thingy, I got this at El Rastro yesterday, he loves it.

Sunday 26th July

Last day in Madrid for this visit, Ken & I went to El Rastro street market, loads to see and bargains galore, got back home to a delicious meal cooked by Paul, stayed up late relating all the details of a great weekend.

Saturday 25th July

Another exciting day in Madrid, went to Botanical Gardens for terrace inspiration, temperature was in the high thirties, a visit to Reina Sofia museum was well worth it, came across a retrospective work of Juan Munoz, it was delightful, love this photo taken by Ken.

Friday 24th July

After mini-drama at the airport, went to Madrid alone, city was amazing, great to see Ken and Lucy looking so relaxed and happy, too much happened today to warrant just one photo but I think this one is too good to leave out, Museo del Jamon, a butchers that you can have a beer in, whilst enjoying a slice of ham !!! Every bar feeds you when you buy a drink, this day I ate chorizo, potato salad, tortilla, calamari, mussels, a lovely ratatouille style dish, crisps, nuts, potato croquettes, in true spanish style I am making a list !!!

Thursday 23rd July

Needed a few things for weekend away, Sean going to Leeds for weekend too, new jeans were required.

Wednesday 22nd July

Introduced Sean to the joys of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, big mistake had to fight over the last glass!!! He also enjoyed my speciality pasta dish made with Swedish meatballs!

Tuesday 21st July

Fi is a connoisseur of cheese but was unfamiliar with Cheddar, Cheshire, Red Leicester etc, so bought a selection and posted them to her this morning - hope they travel well ! (I put the Brie in as Sean tells me it is really expensive is Seoul)

Monday 20th July

Pam not well so swimming put on hold, Sean and I spent most of evening wiki-ing Harry Potter books and movies, the time just flew....

Sunday 19th July

Sunday lunch at the Welly in Ince, pork and beef roast, apple pie and ice cream for afters.

Thursday 16th July

Went with Sean & Adam to see Harry Potter, Nandos for tea, film was OK, some good effects but I think it missed too much important stuff from the book.

Wednesday 15th July

Zena's birthday. Had planned to see My Sisters Keeper with Pams, Jan and Barb, went to Red House for tea then over to cinema, Barb and I were thrilled that it was sold out !!! Reconvened at the Swan and had plenty of laughs and plenty of red wine, a good night was had by all.

This is 'The Red House Chicken Dish', not a very imaginative name but it was delicious.

Tuesday 14th July

Went for a swim, loving that empty pool !!! Sean went over to Liverpool for a bit of sightseeing, took this fab photo of one of the graces.

Sean's first Sunday roast in over a year !

Saturday 11th July

Sean home !! Flight arrived 6.06am, back to car then stopped for a full English, home at 11.30am, Sean out with his mates and we went over to Royal Court to see Brick up the Mersey tunnels, very busy, full day, came home and watched True Lies for the millionth time !!

Friday 10th July

Stayed at the Days Inn in Warwick, had a nice bottle of red between us, bed at 10 as we were up at 4, ideal for a quick stop over.

Thursday 9th July

Going to stay halfway between here & Heathrow tomorrow night, needed to get a few things done so had a busy evening, got my Welcome Home stuff in for Seans arrival on Saturday.

Wednesday 8th July

Went to The Woodland for tea, very good value, will defo give it another go.

Watched the Micheal Jackson Memorial.

Paul on a night out in Glasgow, watched some of new series of Saving Grace, can't believe I am still scratching gnat bites a week later !!!

Sunday 5th July

Went to Rugby Club booty, met Zena, John & Mia, got a whistling kettle for future camping trips, went to Barbs to meet Charlie Owen.

Saturday 4th July

Quite down today as Ken & Lucy have now relocated to Madrid for the foreseeable future, Paul took me window shopping for tents to cheer me up !!!

Friday 3rd July

Leanne and Daves's son arrived last night, Charles David, Barb could not be more thrilled, in fact all the family are, nicked this photo from Barb, little Charlie 15 or so hours old.

Got a new 'Do' , no-one home so had to take my own photo !!!!

Wednesday 1st July

Went to Manchester to pick up some stuff Ken wants taking to Spain later, I drove the MX5 back, so the old girl is back on the garden, photo taken in Whitby few years ago but had no other of the car so this will do. Excited for Ken & Lucy but will really miss them.

Got back into the Wii Fit, signed in as new charactor so have to go thru all the levels again, enjoying it though.
